Jeff Aldrich, RCA Records' A&R executive, managed to get Kurstin to produce tracks for Clarkson's fifth studio album in 2010. Kursin took time to hear Clarkson's previous records before their recording sessions began, in which Clarkson felt made the recording "easier."
